Plant Training

Courses can be tailored to meet your individual requirements; with a variety of equipment and training available.

Courses available include; CPCS, NPORS and also In-house.

CPCS courses are available for operators with limited or no experience.  These courses will bring you up to the required standard to pass the ‘CPCS Technical Test’. They vary from a 3-day foundation course (e.g. a forward tipping dumper), to a 10-day intense course (e.g. a 360° excavator). [If you are an operator with some experience, and can demonstrate this, you could be assessed by the trainer and undertake a shorter training course.

This is an option for some companies, if they control their own work area / project and if the equipment is used to carry out different tasks or use of the equipment is limited. In-house training will only be available to individuals via their organisation, as courses need to be confirmed by the person or department responsible for the company’s Health and Safety along with confirmation that they are not looking for National Accreditation.

Training would involve the completion of an on-site training assessment, followed by the development and delivery of a training programme which may involve an assessment and evaluation at the end of the course.

The National Plant Operators Registration Scheme (NPORS) was formed in 1992 and has been an accredited body, recognised by HSE, since 1999.

NPORS ensures that appropriate training and assessments are being delivered to employers in the Construction, Utilities, Distribution and Warehousing, Ports and Marine, Rail and Agricultural Sectors.

As an accredited NPORS training provider, MTS has a flexible approach and will meet your needs, assisting you in developing an adequately trained workforce. [NPORS have currently registered over 160,000 operators who have been employed across all UK industry sectors.]
